What to expect at your pet’s appointment.

Tell us all about your furry, fluffy or feathered friend.

Information is power. We will take a thorough case history of your pets current and historical health, medical conditions, any behavioural issues or recent changes to get the full picture of your pet and their lifestyle. This is also when we discuss you and your pets health goals.

Examination.

Animals are remarkably good at hiding pain or discomfort. This is why we do a rigorous but gentle examination, including gait and posture analysis and hands-on testing to identify any irregularities in their movement that might be contributing to your concerns.

Be forewarned: this may include some appropriate tasty treats to encourage your pet while being examined.

Diagnosis.

We often hear feedback from pet owners that they are not sure what or why their pet is being treated. We will ensure to explain your pet’s diagnosis to ensure you understand the underlying causes of your pets problems.

When appropriate this may include a referral to a veterinarian or other pet health specialist.

The diagnosis takes account of all symptoms - not just the primary presenting problem - and if they are connected.

Treatment.

We take a multi-modal approach to treating your pet based on their individual needs. This could include manual therapy such as massage, joint mobilisation, dry needling, specific manipulation to improve joint function and craniosacral therapy.

The aim of osteopathic treatment is not only to relieve pain and improve function but also to prevent the recurrence of symptoms by addressing the root cause of their health issues.

Our tailored treatment plans will offer advice on various lifestyle factors that can contribute to your companion's overall well-being. This includes guidance on nutrition, stress management, and exercise routines tailored to meet the specific needs of your companion. By incorporating healthy habits into their daily lives, we can optimise their healing process, minimise the chance of future injury and improve your pets quality of life.
